Precedent before billable hours.

A litigation practice where case research was the bottleneck. The archive became the instrument.

The problem

The archive was unusable in the moment.

A litigation practice where case research was the bottleneck. Associates spent billable hours pattern-matching research the firm had already done on a previous matter. The archive existed. It just wasn't reachable in the moment a new matter came in. Every new case started cold even when an answer already lived inside the firm.

The build

An intelligence layer over the complete archive.

Built the intelligence layer that sits on top of the firm's full case archive. Surfaces relevant precedents when new matters are filed. Flags exposure patterns across the portfolio. Drafts intake summaries that pull what's actually similar to the new case from what's already been argued. The archive stopped being a graveyard and became a working surface.

The result

Research moves from hours to seconds.

Associates' billable hours moved from research to argument. Precedents the firm had already encountered became findable in seconds. The portfolio's exposure became legible across cases rather than re-discovered on each. The work that matters starts sooner because the work that doesn't matter has been done already.
